VANCOUVER — As Vancouver Canucks fans for most of their lives, Snezana and Dobro Lucic don’t need to be reminded how frustrating and emotionally draining, it’s been following the club over the years.

Snezana, in fact, has perhaps an even keener perspective, her brother Dan Kesa being a member of the Canucks in 1993-94 (he didn’t dress for the playoffs when the Canucks came up one game short in the quest for the Stanley Cup).

“Of course, we were heartbroken like everyone else when the Rangers won,” Snezana said of the 1994 Stanley Cup run.

But that was then. Come Wednesday night Milan Lucic’s mother, father, two brothers, grandparents and girlfriend, will all be wearing Boston Bruins black and yellow at Rogers Arena.

Members of the Lucic family get razzed a bit at work, Snezana with Air Canada Jazz and Dobrivoje as a longshore man at the Vancouver port.

“But everybody is very supportive, everybody has a space in their heart for Milan, too,” Snezana said.

Milan Lucic’s heart seems to be about the size of a bull moose.

His career temporarily derailed by a bad ankle injury last year — he scored just nine goals in 50 games and didn’t enjoy coming to the rink anymore — Lucic worked his butt off in the summer with Vancouver Giants strength and conditioning coach Ian Gallagher.

Lucic is fond of one of the aphorisms of Giants head coach Don Hay — will over skill — but there’s lots more to the 23-year-old.

“It’s kind of what Milan is, driven, pushing beyond limits,” Gallagher said. “The understated part of Milan is he’s quite cerebral.

“He understands not just how to work hard, but why you should work hard, he understands time and space, he has a lot of attributes that are positive.”

When the Bruins played in Vancouver in February he scored a goal at Rogers Arena he said he’d imagined “thousands and thousands and thousands” of times playing in the back yard – the winner with less than five minutes remaining.

But his defining moment to date came at the Pacific Coliseum, in the Memorial Cup final in 2007.

In one shift, he levelled three Medicine Hat skaters, then pummeled six-foot-three, 230-pound Tigers enforcer Jordan Bendfeld.

“You know about The Shift, right?” Snezana Lucic wondered.

No one who was there will ever forget it.

As Lucic recalled in February, “The timing of it was perfect, I was in the right place at the right time, making three big hits like that.

“There were 16,000 fans here who were all geared up and wanted to see us win and it seems like after that the momentum shifted to our favour.”

No one who knew him was surprised.

“That didn’t just happen,” Gallagher said. “Milan had it in him, the determinism in him, and he did it on the biggest stage at the time.”

Now the stage is bigger, the biggest it can be.

“We were very excited when he was here in February and it’s unbelievable now with a son playing in the NHL, to play in his hometown against the Canucks in the Stanley Cup final,” Snezana Lucic said.

“It’s amazing.”

Pa Meni je uvek bio centar i okosnica te 3. linije..
Uostalom, i Meni i Kes su centri, nije logicno da igraju u istoj liniji..

A linija Rafi - Meni - Hansen je skroz jebacka kada je zdrava i u elementu, biju i igraju PK samo tako..

Manny moze da igra i poentersku igru i kad mu pridodas jos jedno brzo poentersko krilo to bi bile top 3 linije . Ali ko je to brzo poentersko krilo . A Kesler moze da igra i krilo bar po meni [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Da, ali obojca su sjajni u fejsofovima.. Sta ce ti recimo dva fejsof coveka u istoj liniji..
Postoji razlog zasto svaka linija ima samo jednog centra..

Pa barem znas da su obojca centri, a da dva takva centra ne igraju u istoj liniji..

Znam da su centri . I znam da po potrebi Kes moze igrati i krilo . A protiv superiorno jakih Bruinsa nebi skodilo da se sastavi jedna fizicki jaka linija . Ali kako ste rekli problemi su buliji [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Cela ova prica oko Vinipega je zaista ubila ceo ovaj pump up pred Stenli Kup finale..
Zna li neko od vas uopste da su oni, recimo, juce imali media day..

Ja sam gledao malo media day danas na espn america.
Saznao sam da Tuka Rask voli hard rock i Metalicu !
