Svaka pobeda je bitna, makar da Boston ima sto visi pik na draftu ako nista drugo...

The Tomas Kaberle experiment is now two months in gestation. Based on what we've seen of the veteran defenseman's quirky fit on the Boston blue line thus far, the acquisition price (prospect Joe Colborne, first-round pick, possible second-round pick) was far too high and the ex-Maple Leaf's impact far too low. Question is, what to do now? Kaberle's low-octane performance in Black-and-Gold won't help the 33-year-old land a substantial deal upon becoming an unrestricted free agent July 1. Obviously, that could change if his play suddenly perks up here in Round 2 against Philadelphia

DJ Bean reports defenseman Tomas Kaberle wants to return with the Bruins, adding “we’re going to talk the next few days”.

Kaberle will have to accept a short term deal (one-two years) and a considerable pay cut (probably half of the $4.25 million he earned this season) if he hopes to remain a Bruin.

Ja bi mu savetovao da prihvati i taj pay cut i sve, nije se nesto proslavio u PO.. (iako je na kraju imao zavidan broj asistencija)
Mada.. Msm da ce verovatno bolje uslove da izdejstvuje ako odluci da testira trziste..

Sad, zavisi sta on zeli.. Ovde pise da hoce da ostane, ali za pola sadasnje plate... nznm bas..

Verujem da postoje timovi koji bi mu isad dali 2 godine po 4 miliona, ko god da je ovo pisao je potpuno(deluzionalan, kako se to kaze na srpskom koji moj? ).

Kaberle and Ryder to leave Bruins in free agency



Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli expects defenseman Tomas Kaberle to test the free-agent waters Friday, but he’s not ready to rule out the possibility of his return to Boston.

“There’s no finality to our relationship,” Chiarelli said Thursday. “What we agreed to with Tomas and his agent is that he would look into the market and we’d continue to talk with him. There’s certainly no finality there.

“If it’s not Tomas, we would look to some names in the market and/or we’d look to our younger guys. But let me be perfectly clear — there’s no end to the relationship.”

Kaberle and forward Michael Ryder are the team’s two most prominent unrestricted free agents. Kaberle was acquired by the Bruins at the trade deadline from the Toronto Maple Leafs and failed to produce like he has in the past, posting a goal and 8 assists in 24 regular-season games and zero goals and 11 assists in 25 postseason contests.

Ryder, meanwhile, was a major contributor to the Bruins’ championship run. In the playoffs, the 31-year-old had 8 goals and 9 assists in 25 games after an 18-goal regular season.

As I reported earlier when I said it was down to the Wild and the Devils...now it's the Wild. Looks like a really good deal for Kaberle as well. The Wild have lost Burns and Barker...so this is much needed.

Bruins add Corvo from Carolina for 4th round pick



The Boston Bruins didn't wait long to fill the offensive void on their blue line left by Tomas Kaberle's departure for Carolina on Tuesday.

Not long after losing Kaberle, the Bruins acquired Joe Corvo from the Hurricanes in exchange for a 2012 fourth-round draft pick.

Corvo, 34, had 11 goals and 29 assists in 82 games with the Hurricanes last season. In eight seasons, he's had at least 10 goals four times, and has 79 goals and 179 assists in 568 NHL games with the Kings, Senators, Hurricanes and Capitals.

"He's a tremendous skater," Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said. "He's very quick. He's got a terrific shot."

With Kaberle's departure for the Hurricanes, it made Corvo expendable as well as opened a need for a second power-play quarterback to pair with Zdeno Chara in Boston. Corvo had 5 power-play goals last season, and 36 of his 79 goals have come with the man-advantage.
